Because of the materials used and their natural slope, most skylights are maintenance free. The little bits of dirt and debris that build up over time are usually washed away by the rain.

We don’t recommend cleaning acrylic, but if you do, use a clean microfiber towel, warm water, and a mild dish soap. DO NOT use any household cleaners or window cleaners!

Under certain conditions of low temperature and high humidity, it is possible for condensation to occur between double dome acrylic skylights, which dissipates as the weather conditions change.

If there is an excessive problem please contact the skylight service specialists at our sister company, FreeLite. Call 972-234-5990 or visit freelitetx.com.

Because of the greater expansion and contraction inherent in the acrylic plastic, you will sometimes experience popping or cracking noises as the domes heat or cool with changes in the outside temperature. The top dome expands faster than the bottom dome, which can cause them to catch on each other. This is normal and will usually stop over time. It in no way affects the quality or performance of the unit.

This warranty does not cover breakage of the acrylic domes or flat glass. The liability under this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the unit, exclusive of the freight and installation costs. To make a claim contact your supplier with a written statement of the defect encountered.

AcraLite of Texas reserves the right to visually inspect the product and its installation and to replace or repair the unit at its option. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights that vary state to state.

Glass glazed skylights must be installed with a pitch of at least 3 to 12.

On flat roofs this means a pitched curb must be installed to slope the skylight. If the glass is not pitched then water will accumulate under the retaining cap, attacking the insulated glass seal and eventually causing failure and moisture infiltration inside the glass. Our insulated glass skylights are not warranted for horizontal installation.
