These skylights offer excellent value and performance. Acrylic plastic is a relatively inexpensive glazing material and is formed into the shape of a dome, which maximizes the amount of heat reflected away and creates a pleasant, softer light below.
Acrylic domes come in three standard shades.
Bronze or tinted acrylic domes offer a more subtle exterior design. They are also commonly chosen for their ability to offer a view of the sky above.
White glazing is the coolest option and provides the best quality light.
Clear domes are completely transparent. They are commonly chosen to allow for a completely clear and unfiltered view of the sky. They are not ideal for areas that get direct sun.

As the name implies these skylights are designed to be installed on top of an existing curb. Curbs are usually made from 2″ x 6″ wooden boards and should rise at least 4 inches above the roof line.
The flashing used to keep water away from the curb is a part of the roofing system and is not included with the skylight.
